Teamwork makes the dream work! We canβt wait to see this duo flying along the banks of Loch Ness! π¦

π Cyclist`s Story: Shelley Gilmour π
A ride for Mum. A mission for Macmillan
After losing her mum when she was 13 years old, Shelley Gilmour is taking on Etape Loch Ness with one powerful goal: giving back to the Macmillan nurses who provided care that was "nothing short of amazing."
From the banks of Loch Ness to the top of the Glendoe, Shelley is pedalling to raise vital funds. Her mission is to ensure @MacmillanCancer can continue to provide this essential service to cancer patients and their families when they need it most.
We are so incredibly proud to have you on the course, Shelley.
Please join us in wishing Shelley the best of luck on her journey! ππ
π Cyclistβs Story: Neil Stirton π΄
We are thrilled to welcome a true sporting legend to Etape Loch Ness!
After representing Scotland in Target Shooting at four consecutive Commonwealth Games (2006-2018), Neil Stirton is trading the shooting range for the open road. π―
While Neil has spent years competing at the highest level, he`s trading the pressure of the Games for the community feel of the Highlands.
For him, this ride is all about the fresh air, the magnificent views, and the camaraderie of thousands of fellow cyclists.
Join us in welcoming a local hero to the start line!
Drop a `π` below to wish Neil a great ride!

Don`t let the Highland chill slow you down. ποΈβοΈ
Remember, the weather in the Scottish Highlands can change in an instant!
With an early start, temperatures at the beginning of Etape Loch Ness can be a bit chilly, and the top of Glendoe (the King/Queen of the Mountain stage) tends to be cool too.
It`s always easier to shed a jacket or gloves if you start to heat up, but much harder to deal with the cold if you`re under-prepared.
