Fantastic to see the first community groups in the Highlands benefiting from the Get Active Scotland Fund.
More than £270,000 has already been awarded to boost sport and physical activity opportunities, reaching over 70 community groups across Scotland to help children, young people and communities experiencing high levels of deprivation or rural isolation to be more active.
Launched in September 2025, Get Active Scotland is a £1.1 million collaboration between @londonmarathon Foundation, @sportscotland_, @hlhsocial and Glasgow Life.
Here in the Highlands, groups funded include Highland Disability Sport, @highland_bears Basketball Club, Golspie Youth Action Project and @abanoutdoor – an outdoor education charity using the funding for new canoeing activities for its outdoor youth groups.
